Bridging the gap between in-house IT professionals and public safety software vendors

Our mission is to fill a much-needed void experienced at many public safety agencies between their software vendors and their in-house IT professionals.

Many software vendors lack the staff and bandwidth to provide specialized services such as database administration, custom GIS mapping, report writing and infrastructure analysis.  These are the areas commonly denoted as "customer responsibility" on statements of work for new projects.

Likewise, many public safety agencies lack IT professionals with the specialized training required to be successful in these niche areas.  Many of these niche disciplines in IT are careers in and of themselves.  Few public safety agencies have the budget or workload to employ a full-time GIS analyst, database administrator or report writer, but most agencies need these services from time to time.  It is our goal to make these services available when needed and affordable!

SQL Database Administration

Often software vendors will implement their product into a fresh installation of SQL Server and provide little to no direction for their customers on the upkeep or protection of the database they just created.

Backups, maintenance, performance tuning and disaster recovery are commonly listed as “customer responsibility” but sadly not every customer has a resident Database Administrator as part of their IT team.

Let’s pick up where your vendor left off and keep your data safe while ensuring your users aren’t needlessly waiting for an hourglass in your applications.

GIS / Mapping

Knowing where your units are and where they’re going is paramount to running an efficient public safety agency.  Commonly Public Safety software vendors will offer to sell commercial map data along with their products but provide a little if any assistance with customizing that data or tuning it for the best user experience.

Many agencies don’t realize that they are usually not required to purchase mapping data from their software vendor.  There are commercial mapping vendors who sell data directly, often at a much lower cost. There are even no-cost options available to many agencies such as data provided by a county or state GIS department.

GIS isn't limited to just the map displayed on your CAD screen.  The proper combination of GIS and reporting tools can help you figure out areas that create response time challenges, identify incident trends and more.

Already have mapping data but want to customize it?  No problem!  Want to learn your options for a new source of map data?  Let’s explore what is available to your agency.

Virtualization

Are you planning on upgrading your server infrastructure and curious if virtualization is right for you?

Let’s do an inventory of your current environment and see if your agency could benefit from leveraging the incredible power of virtualization.

Gone are the days of racks and racks of servers each dedicated to a single task. Virtualization allows you to extract the total computing capacity from your hardware, thereby lowering your overall TCO.

Remote Access

Wish your CAD vendor made an app for your iPad or made it easy to access your system from the field?

Let’s discuss options like RemoteApps and Remote Desktop Services that can give you secure, encrypted access to your full CAD system on a laptop, tablet or PC with a reliable internet connection from anywhere in the world.

Custom Report Writing

The top CAD, RMS and EMS charting applications all generally include reporting packages.  These "canned" reports generally satisfy around 75% of an agency's reporting needs, but fall short due to the unique needs of an individual agency.

We can help with anything from making small modifications to your existing reports to creating new custom reports from scratch.

Leveraging tools such as Crystal Reports, SQL Server Reporting Services, Tableau Desktop, ArcGIS and various Business Intelligence applications, we can help you put your data to work in ways you may not have thought possible.
